Bayley won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match. She then turned babyface and challenged IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40.
WWE is not promoting Bayley much on the Road to WrestleMania XL. She wasn’t brought in for the WrestleMania Kickoff Press Conference in Las Vegas. She wasn’t a part of the Elimination Chamber PLE this past Saturday in Australia.
They aren’t promoting her on graphics either, like the one shown below:
We are being told that WWE is doing this on purpose, so they can get the fans behind Bayley even more, similar to the recent “We Want Cody” thing on Social Media.
WWE’s plan is already working, as a lot of big pages on social media are showing support for Bayley and want WWE to put some respect on her name.
Wrestlers are showing support for the former Damage CTRL leader as well.
CM Punk said the following after the WrestleMania press conference:
“I really need to, as a broadcast journalist, I really need to talk about Bayley, and how she won the Royal Rumble for the women, and she wasn’t represented on the poster, I felt like she needed a presence there.
Got caught up talking about The Rock and Reigns and Cody and Seth and all that, but very much in the mix is Bayley who won the Royal Rumble and you need to put some respect on her name.”
Shelton Benjamin recently said the following on the Black Rasslin’ Podcast:
“This is to all social media. You need to be talking about Bayley a whole lot more. Don’t get me wrong, everyone’s hot on The Rock and Cody and ‘finish the story’. But at the same time, I say, like CM Punk said, Bayley won the Royal Rumble, and all anyone is talking about is Cody’s story.
Give Bayley her flowers. I think she’s one of the most underrated girls on the roster. I feel like she’s underrated and underappreciated by the company, but not by the talent.
We recognize what she is. Bayley should be World Champion come April. That’s my personal opinion.”
