4. Reason For Heat on Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins, Raw Cruiserweights To Work Indy Events As Well
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer is reporting that there is backstage heat on Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins. The reason for the heat is that TJP has been talking about how he was homeless at one point.
People in the wrestling business and backstage in WWE don’t feel that reason is something that will make him special as so many wrestlers have been in the same spot. Below is what Meltzer said:
“People are telling me that there’s too many guys saying, ‘we were just like that too, what’s so special about that’.”
Speaking of Cruiserweights, WWN issued a statement where they noted that Raw Cruiserweights Tony Nese & Drew Gulak will continue to wrestle for EVOLVE while they work on Raw:
“WWN is very proud that WWN contracted wrestlers Drew Gulak and Tony Nese wrestled on WWE Raw last night in Cruiserweight Division matches. Both Gulak and Nese are now featured on the WWE.com Raw Roster section. This is another step in the building relationship between EVOLVE/WWN and WWE. We are very happy to say that Gulak and Nese will continue to wrestle in EVOLVE while they compete in the WWE Cruiserweight Division. Gulak is set to team with Tracy Williams to challenge EVOLVE Tag Team Champions DUSTIN & Drew Galloway at EVOLVE 70 on October 15th in Orlando, FL.
The losing duo can never team again. Tony Nese returns to EVOLVE on November 12th in Queens, NY and November 13th in Joppa, MD.”
