6. Kevin Owens Thinks Tye Dillinger Is One of the Best In WWE NXT

During a recent interview with Sky Sports, former NXT Champion Kevin Owens talked about what Finn Balor did for NXT and who he thinks is one of the best in NXT nowadays. Below are the highlights from the interview:

On Finn Balor’s WWE main roster call up:

“When Finn, myself and Hideo Itami started there the brand was definitely on the rise – not just because of us, let me make that clear, but because every performer and coach, plus the management team, were working so hard to make it something pretty special. Then Hideo and Zayn got hurt, and myself and Neville got called to the main roster, so without Finn I don’t know whether NXT would have reached the level it has today – you always need one guy to hitch your wagon to and he was that guy.”

On Tye Dillinger:

“If I were able to pick somebody to wrestle so a lot of people get to see them maybe for the first time and they get more recognition, it would be Dillinger. There are lot of guys in NXT who deserve the spotlight but I think he is one of the best guys we have, not just in NXT but in WWE as a whole. Some of the guys in NXT haven’t wrestled for long and some of them haven’t wrestled at all but Dillinger has been doing this for a long time. If there is someone on the roster they can look up to it is him – he is fantastic; a great wrestler and a great person in and out of the ring.”

5. Wade Barrett Says WWE Didn’t Put Any Thought Into His King of the Ring Win

During a recent appearance on WZ Radio, former WWE wrestler Wade Barrett talked about his King of the Ring win and WWE’s booking of him from that point on. Below is what he said:

“The title of King of the Ring can be prestigious but if it’s followed up by non-existent writing then it’s pointless. Which I think was the issue in regards to me. The tournament itself is fine, there were some good matches and we got a bit of hype behind it and then it was followed up with three months of two grown men fighting over a toilet plunger. Which, you know, you follow something up with writing like that and it’s not going to lead to anything good. The title of King of the Ring is fine on it’s own but you have to follow it up with good writing.

It was thrown together very last minute. I think we did the quarter finals the week before and then we came back the next week and did the actual semi-finals and the finals on a one hour special on the WWE Network. Probably about forty minutes before the show went live we didn’t even know who was winning the tournament. We knew that it was going to be me and Neville in the finals. It all honesty, a complete lack of thought had gone into it. I was given Booker T’s old outfit from ten years earlier. Obviously it didn’t look great. There was no follow up to it with a storyline or anything like that. If it was meant as an attempt to push me or get me over I think there really wasn’t any effort put in from the word, “Go.””
