1. Eric Bischoff Gives His Views on Why Fans Shouldn’t Be Concerned About Raw’s Decrease In Viewership
During a recent edition of Eric Bischoff’s podcast, Bischoff gave his views on why fans shouldn’t be concerned about Raw’s decrease in viewership. Below is what he said:
“I think way too many times “pundits” or people who are on the periphery of the television business, even some people involved in the television business, spend way too much time thinking or talking about a weekly variation. Particularly when it’s in the neighborhood of less than 10% or 10%. Even more so when you’re up against an anomaly like the Olympics. It’s easy just to ascribe a footnote to it and say, “Oh, well, by the way they were up against the Olympics.” 28.8 million viewers. That’s a hell of a lot of viewers. Across a wide demo. It’s not just an asterisk. It’s a very important point conversely to what most internet wrestling fans think. I think the fact WWE was able to hold nearly three million people up against the Olympics, during the heat of the summer which is the worst time of year, is phenomenal. So, I wouldn’t get too wound up over it.”
