January 14, 1984
Back on that day multiple Old school WWF Superstars were interviewed by Mean Gene Okerlund about entering a $30,000 Battle Royal.
Enjoy Hulk Hogan just days before he became the WWF World Champion for the first time.
On the same day, “The Incredible” Hulk Hogan teamed up with former WWF World Champion Bob Backlund, who had just lost the belt to the Iron Sheik 3 weeks earlier.
Also that day, we witnessed one of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s first ever WWF appearances, when he showed on “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff’s side.

January 14, 1987
Announcer Jesse “The Body” Ventura couldn’t believe the hype around the new Tag Team ‘The Can-Am Connection’ and how over Tom Zenk & Rick Martel were with the ladies.
Also one of the early Outback Jack Vignettes aired that day.
The late Frenchy Martin, whom most of you will remember as the manager of Dino Bravo, before Jimmy Hart took over, faced “Superfly” Sivi Afi in a match that aired that day.
After dropping the ‘Big Machine’ gimmick, Blackjack Mulligan was back on WWF TV as himself.
Former WWF Tag Team Champion “Wild Samoan” Sika, now a singles Wrestler, faced Corporal Kirchner in a match that aired that day.

On this day’s episode of WCW Saturday Night, we saw interviews with rivals Big Van Vader and WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan.
While Vader had his manager Old School Wrestling Legend Harley Race with him, the Hulkster had “The Macho Man” Randy Savage & his manager Jimmy “Mouth of the South” Hart by his side.

“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels gave an inspiring speech during the Royal Rumble press conference, where he announced that – despite his recent injury – he would return and enter the 30 Man Royal Rumble match.

The infamous WCW Sin PPV took place that day, where Sid Vicious broke his leg during the main event. The actual footage was cut from the Live PPV, as even the Live feed is a few seconds behind, just in case they have to censor something, but the entire incident was shown the next night on Nitro.
