Never in the history of Professional Wrestling have more people watched a Wrestling event on Television than on this day when NBC aired a LIVE broadcast of WWF The Main Event I!
33 Million viewers watched LIVE when André The Giant defeat the “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship with some help of the “Evil Twin Brother” Referee (The WWF Debut of Earl Hebner).
This drew a 15.2 Nielsen rating and still to this day is by far the Wrestling Event with the highest rating ever.
