WrestleMania 42 Main Event Teased At Survivor Series

Tonight’s Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 premium live event was the final WWE PLE of the year and it took place at Petco Park in San Diego, California. Over 45,000 fans are in attendance.

First match of the night was the Women’s WarGames match. There’s a big change for this match tonight – there are no shark cages. Wrestlers came out one after one.

Below is the order of the entrants:

4. Becky Lynch

5. Alexa Bliss

6. Kairi Sane

7. AJ Lee

8. Nia Jax

9. Rhea Ripley

10. Lash Legend

This is AJ Lee’s second match in 10 years. Becky Lynch didn’t allow AJ to enter the ring through the door, so AJ climbed the cage.

Asuka accidentally spit the mist in Lash’s face after Charlotte moved out of the way. IYO SKY did her trashcan moonsault from the tap of the cage.

In the end, AJ made Becky tap out to the Black Widow.

Up next is the Intercontinental Championship match. AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio came out with Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Grand Slam Champion John Cena came out next for his final PLE match.

During the match, Roxanne tripped Cena behind the referee’s back. A few minutes, Raquel laid out Cena with a right hand!

Dominik went for a hurricanrana on the floor, but Cena countered with a powerbomb. It looked like Dirty Dom was injured and the trainers were checking on him. Behind the referee’s back, Raquel and Roxanne hit their finishers on Cena. Dominik quickly entered the ring and hit a 619 followed by a Frog Splash. Dom went for the cover, but the referee didn’t count as he was pi$$ed that Dominik faked an injury. Referee ejected Raquel and Roxanne from ringside.

Cena hit an Attitude Adjustment, but Dominik kicked out. Cena accidentally knocked out the referee with a shoulder tackle. Cena locked in the STFU, but the referee is out. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh ran out and attacked the 17-time World Champion. JD went for a moonsault, but Cena got his knees up. Cena picked both of them up at the same time and hit a double AA!

Dominik tried to hit Cena with the IC Title, but Cena ducked and hit the AA. Liv Morgan returned! Liv slapped Dominik and then jumped on Cena. Liv low-blowed Cena and hit him with the title. Dominik then beat Cena.

Cena’s final title reign is over at his final PLE as an in-ring performer.

Up next is the Women’s World Championship match between Stephanie Vaquer and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella. Nikki debuted new ring gear for her heel run.

After hitting Nikki with the Devil’s Kiss twice (first on top of the announce table), Stephanie hit the Corkscrew Moonsault for the win.

Tonight’s event broke the all-time Survivor Series attendance record: 46,016.

Up next is the main event of the evening and it is the Men’s WarGames match. Below is the order of entrants:

Punk got busted open during the match. Cody accidentally hit Punk in the face. Breakker got dropped on his neck during the Doomsday Device. Brock Lesnar interrupted Jey Uso’s Yeet Dance break.

When Roman Reigns came out, Brock left the cage and they fought outside. Roman delivered multiple superman punches, but Lesnar F5ed The OTC through the announce table!

The action returned to the ring, where Brock hit Roman with another F5. Punk hit Brock with the GTS and Cody hit Brock with the Cross Rhodes. They went for the cover on Brock, but Logan hit a splash of top of them. Logan began using brass knuckles, but Roman took it away and used it himself. Brock was looking to hit Jey with the F5, but Roman speared both of them through a table in the corner.

A masked man jumped into the cage and he stomped Punk after hitting a superkick. The masked man quickly climbed out of the cage without unmasking. Breakker then speared Punk and pinned the World Heavyweight Champion.

Roman Reigns is no longer undefeated in WarGames matches. Roman showed respect to Punk after the match and said the following to Cody:

“This is the last time we ever team.”

This looked like a tease for a third WrestleMania main event match between Roman and Cody at WrestleMania 42 in April 2026.
