Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring WrestleMania 42 and Finn Balor.
• WrestleMania 42 Will Also Be In Las Vegas, According To Industry Official
WrestleMania 42 will no longer take place in New Orleans. According to NOLAnews, next year’s WrestleMania will also take place in Las Vegas:
“After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name.”
This new reports contradicts what PWInsider reported. According to PWInsider, WWE insiders anticipate WrestleMania 42 taking place outside the United States.
UPDATE: Sean Ross Sapp had the following to say about this rumor: “Someone who used to be tied to WWE said they heard this as well.”
WrestleMania 41 took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and set the record for the highest gate (revenue from ticket sales) in WWE history.
As we noted before, Andrew Baydala reported that WrestleMania 42 in New Orleans has been moved due to a new significant bid.
• Backstage News On Finn Balor’s Push
Earlier this year, reports came out that WWE plans to push Finn Balor in 2025. This led to fan speculation that Finn might be winning a singles title this year.
However, WWE’s idea of Finn’s push is a lot different that what the fans think. Here’s what WrestleVotes reported:
“A lot of people have been saying when we reported that he’s in line for a ‘push’ back in January, people thought he was going to win a title, he’s gonna do this, he’s gonna do that.
If you look, he’s been one of the more featured wrestlers since the move on Netflix. He’s wrestling almost every week. They’re doing their best to get him on TV and he’s doing a great job at losing, as crazy as that sounds, although he did win [on this week’s RAW].
So, I would just expect more appearances and more action for Finn Balor. Whether that equals a title, I don’t know.”
