On this day in 1987, we lost Old School Wrestling Veteran Mike Von Erich (Real name: Michael Adkisson) at the young age of 23 due to committing suicide.

Mike Von Erich was the son of the legendary World Class Championship Wrestling promoter Fritz Von Erich, as well as the brother of David Von Erich, “The Texas Tornado” Kerry Von Erich, Kevin Von Erich & Chris Von Erich.

In 2009, he, his father & his brothers were all inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but unfortunately his brother Kevin was the last one of them, who was still alive and there to accept the award.

Their former rival, “Freebird” Michael “P.S.” Hayes, inducted them.

• WWE 2K21 Might Be Cancelled, New WWE Branded Game Rumored For Release This Year

With every year passing, the quality of WWE games just keeps getting worse. It’s been 6 months since the release of WWE 2K20, which turned out to be one of the worst-selling games in the history of WWE games.

Like every year, 2K was expected to release their next WWE game this year as well. However, that might not be the case for this year.

According to Justin Leeper, the Road to WrestleMania story writer for 3 WWE games, WWE 2K21 is cancelled and will not be released this year.

“I heard from a reliable source, and I really believe it, that WWE 2K21 was cancelled. There will be no game this year”, Leeper revealed in a video to his followers.

Leeper also hinted that a new WWE branded game could hit the shelves this year.

Usually, WWE reveals that there will be a new game by this time of the year, but nothing has been confirmed by the company yet. In addition, 2K still hasn’t started working on motion captures for the next game.

We could either see 2K taking a gap year for WWE games this year, as demanded by a majority of fans, or a completely new brand stepping in to produce WWE games.
