1. Candy Cartwright Files Lawsuit Against WWE, Matt Riddle, EVOLVE & Gabe Sapolsky

During the #SpeakingOut movement, which started on Twitter a couple of months ago, WWE wrestler Matt Riddle was accused of rape by Candy Cartwright.

Cartwright held a news conference regarding a multi-million dollar lawsuit she has filed against WWE, Matt Riddle, EVOLVE Wrestling and Gabe Sapolsky.

Fightful is reporting that she filed a lawsuit of $10 million against each defendant in the Circuit Court of Cook County Illinois.

The documents state that Riddle sexually harassed Cartwright after an EVOLVE Wrestling event in April 2017, and bragged about it to former EVOLVE owner, Gabe Sapolsky. Two entities in WWE approved of this behaviour, which is why the lawsuit is against the company as well.

The May 19, 2018 incident of Riddle allegedly forcing Cartwright to perform oral sex on him by choking her was also mentioned. As Cartwright said before, this was done in front of other members of EVOLVE on a bus leaving an event from Summit, Illinois, the location of EVOLVE 104.

It was also stated that WWE and Sapolsky have created a misogynistic culture, which encouraged Riddle to behave like that.

It’s alleged that Cartwright had bookings with WWE and EVOLVE on January 31, 2020, and Riddle threatened her with those bookings by telling her to perform sexual acts on him or she would lose those bookings.

Cartwright claims that she refused to do so, and that Riddle informed WWE and EVOLVE that he did not want her working with the companies because of which she was told that “issues with talent” prevented the bookings.
