WWE Backlash France 2024 (Live Coverage) – Part 2

WWE Backlash France 2024 took place at the LDLC Arena in Décines-Charpieu in Lyon Metropolis, France.

CM Punk, Big E & Jackie Redmond hosted the pre-show. Punk was happy to hear fans in France chant his name. Punk also teased that The Rock could be the new Tribal Chief of The Bloodline.

The main PLE show kicked off with the tag team match. Kevin Owens came out first, followed by Randy Orton and then The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga), accompanied by Paul Heyman.

Fans sang Orton’s theme song and heavily booed The Bloodline. A loud “We Want Roman” chant also started.

All 4 men began brawling before the match even began. Security and Producers came out to separate them.

SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis came out and made it a Street Fight. They brawled all over the arena. Kevin put Tonga through a Table on the outside, while Solo put Orton through a Table inside the ring.

Orton hit Tonga with the RKO and went for the cover, but Solo broke it up. Orton RKOed Solo on top of the announce table. Owens is now assaulting Tonga with a Steel Chair. Owens suplexed Tonga through chairs and went for the cover, but someone broke up the pin.

The man who broke it up is Tama’s brother, Tanga Loa, another member of The Bloodline. He assaulted Orton & Owens with Steel Ring Steps.

Solo hits Owens with the Samoan Spike for the win.

Up next is a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women’s Championship between Bayley, Tiffany Stratton and Naomi. After back and forth action, Bayley pinned Naomi to pick up the win.

Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa had a face off with Jey Uso backstage. Up next is the World Heavyweight Championship match between Jey and Damian Priest.

JD McDonagh and Finn Balor interfered in this match. Jey took both of them out with Superkicks. However, JD still saved Damian from being pinned by putting Damian’s foot on the bottom rope.

Priest hit Jey with the South of Heaven Chokeslam from the second rope for the win.

Finn and JD attacked Jey after the match, but Priest wasn’t happy about it and almost fought with them. However, they calmed down and celebrated the win. This was another tease for the eventual Judgment Day break up, which would lead to Damian vs. Finn.

After this, it was announced that Backlash France has set the record for the largest gate (revenue from tickets) for any arena show in WWE history.

Up next is the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match. After back & forth action, Bianca and Jade put away Asuka and Kairi to pick up the win. Bianca pinned Asuka to pick up the win.

This was Jade’s first title win in WWE.

Up next is the main event of the evening and it is for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Referee Jessika Carr has made history in this match by becoming the first female referee to officiate a PLE main event for the WWE Championship.

After good back & forth action, Cody put away AJ with only one Cross Rhodes.
