• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (February 19, 1968) – Old School Wrestling Legend Passed Away

On this day in 1968, we lost Old School Wrestling Legend “The Russian Lion” George Hackenschmidt at the age of 90 due to a Sepsis.

Born in Estonia, George Hackenschmidt became one of the first big names in professional wrestling history and quite a few historians actually consider him to have been one of the best of all time.

Hackenschmidt became the first ever recognized World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion in 1905, a championship that was the official precursor of what later became the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

The famous “hack squat” exercise was actually named after him.

In 2016, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of their annual Legacy Wing inductions.

• WWE Bringing Back Legends For WrestleMania 35

According to PWInsider, there have been talks of bringing back WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus & Lita for WrestleMania 35.

While PWInsider didn’t report on their role, rumor has it that they’ll be challenging Sasha Banks & Bayley for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 35. Even more speculation has begun regarding this match after Sasha & Bayley noted on this week’s RAW that they’re open to defending their Titles against anyone from past or present.

Speaking of WrestleMania 35, PWInsider noted that the plan coming out of Evolution 2018 PPV was for Trish Stratus & Lita to take on The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella & Brie Bella) at WrestleMania 35, but it looks like talks for that match didn’t go anywhere. No word yet on if Bella Twins will be used at WrestleMania 35 or not.
