• WWE Comments On Rumors Of SmackDown Taking Place At The Performance Center Due To Coronavirus Situation

As we noted earlier, PWInsider reported that this week’s SmackDown will be taking place from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, instead of Detroit due to the Coronavirus outbreak:

“World Wrestling Entertainment has pulled the plug on this Friday’s SmackDown taping in Detroit, Michigan and will instead broadcast Friday Night SmackDown and 205 Live this week from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, PWInsider has confirmed with multiple sources.”

Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT also took place at the WWE Performance Center.

In an update to this, WWE issued the following statement to ProWrestlingSheet regarding this situation:

“WWE has not cancelled Friday Night SmackDown in Detroit, however, based on the current situation, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that upcoming WWE shows are cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues.”
