On this day in 1996, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WCW Saturday Night’.
This episode was pre-taped from the Georgia Mountains Center in Gainesville, Georgia and featured matches & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WCW Fall Brawl 1996’ PPV.

• WWE Could Bring Big Cass Back
During a recent interview on WINCLY podcast, former WWE Superstar Big Cass revealed that he’s in contact with WWE and there is a possibility that they bring him back.
Cass also talked about rumors of WWE wanting to bring him and Enzo Amore back to NXT (which Triple H shut down).
Below are the highlights:
On if he’s in contact with WWE:
“Yes, we have been in contact. I talk to them. Who knows what will happen? I could get a call tomorrow, so I’ve been in contact with them and we chat on a regular basis. But nothing is concrete yet, so we’ll see what happens.”
On rumors of WWE wanting to bring him & Enzo Amore back to NXT, and Triple H accusing Enzo of spreading those false rumors:
“Enzo texted me earlier that day and said, ‘Yo!’ and then he sent me some screenshots, and I was like, ‘How? Why?’ It didn’t make any sense.
Like, we haven’t talked to them, we hadn’t even opened dialogue with them. And then those reports came out and me and him were both shocked. It didn’t make any sense at that point in time.
I don’t know who put it out there. I don’t know what reason they put it out there for but maybe to gauge things, but I can guarantee you this – despite what Triple H said, Enzo didn’t put it out there, I didn’t put it out there. We had no idea where it came from.”
