• WWE Discussing Major Return On January 2nd RAW

The first episode of RAW of 2023 will take place on January 2nd. WWE has announced the following matches for this show:

– Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth Rollins for the United States Championship

– Bianca Belair (c) vs. Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship

According to Xero News, there’s some discussion going on about Cody Rhodes returning on this episode instead of the Royal Rumble 2023 premium live event, and costing Rollins the US Title match against Theory:

“Some within the company feel that Cody Rhodes should return to cost Seth Rollins his United States Title match with Austin Theory, it may be the better idea rather than a Royal Rumble return if The Rock winning it from #30 is indeed the plan.”

As we have reported before, WWE still has plans to do a 4th PPV match between Rollins and Rhodes.

As noted in our previous article, this match could take place at WrestleMania 39 and could be for the WWE Championship, unless Cody is needed as Roman Reigns’ opponent if The Rock isn’t available for the show (tap here to read more).

• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WWF Veteran Mideon (Real name: Dennis Knight) celebrates his 54th birthday today.

Between 1992 and 1994, he wrestled for Ted Turner’s WCW as Tex Slazenger and frequently teamed with Shanghai Pierce, a Tag Team that was later reunited in early 1996, when both wrestled on World Wrestling Federation TV, only this time Knight was billed as Phineas I. Godwinn (short P.I.G.), while his team partner had already joined the WWF a little over a year earlier as Henry O. Godwinn.

Together they wrestled as The Godwinns, first managed by WWF Legend Hillbilly Jim, but later after their Heel Turn managed by Uncle Cletus (a repackaged T.L. Hopper).

During the Attitude Era, Dennis Knight became known as Mideon, a member of The Undertaker’s evil ‘Ministry of Darkness’ stable.

Once the faction disbanded, Mideon’s career went downhill, and after a short stint as Naked Mideon, he was let go by the WWF in early 2001.
