WWE Files Trademark For AEW Star’s Name

WWE And AEW Logos 2 WrestleFeed App

Below are some top WWE news stories of the day.

• WWE has filed a trademark application for the name “Edge” as of November 19, currently listed as live and pending.

This move is likely an effort to protect their intellectual property, as the “Edge” name was created by WWE and famously used by Adam Copeland during his tenure with the company.

Adam Copeland, now signed with AEW, has been out of action since fracturing his tibia in a barbed wire steel cage match against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing in May. There is no update on when Copeland will return to the ring.

• Charlotte Flair has been out of action since injuring her knee on the December 8, 2023 episode of SmackDown. After undergoing surgery, she’s been focused on her recovery.

It looks like she teased a return to WWE programming by posting the following video:

Though she hasn’t returned to WWE TV yet, it seems WWE already has plans for her at WrestleMania 41.

Flair missed WrestleMania 40 due to her injury, but she’s expected to return between late 2024 and early 2025, with a possible championship win on the horizon.

WrestleVotes was asked about a potential match between Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 41. While nothing was confirmed about that match, it was made clear that Charlotte will have a major role in the top women’s match at the event, and she’ll be a key figure in any women’s bout WWE showcases at WrestleMania.

“Another WrestleMania question, that’s a good one. I haven’t heard too much… about potential women’s matches at WrestleMania. I do know that Charlotte Flair is going to be in the fold and at the top of any women’s wrestling card that they present for WrestleMania.”

Ric Flair recently said the following about his daughter’s injury:

“She had major ACL, MCL and meniscus damage. I really don’t know what the timetable is for her to come back; I don’t even want to make a prediction; I mean, I’m sure she’d rather be there right now than rehabbing still, but I have no idea what the timetable is.”
