• WWE Going To India For A Major Show (Details)

Wrestlevotes recently reported the following about WWE doing an International Event in 2023:

“I’m told there was chatter last night backstage at RAW of an ‘international live event’ taking place on Wednesday January 18th or Thursday Jan 19th. With location still TBD. No word on if this event is for TV or not.”

SK Wrestling is now reporting that this international event will take place in India in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The report stated that this event will be held on a “grand scale” and will feature both Indian and International WWE Superstars.

Drew McIntyre is reportedly a lock for this event, since he recently visited India for a Bollywood project.

One would assume that Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns would also be a part of this event, since he has always had a massive following in India and he worked both the WWE Live Events that took place in India in the last decade (in 2016 & 2017).

For those who don’t know, WWE’s #1 fanbase is from India. A WWE Official said the following about India a few years ago:

“India is one of our top international markets. In terms of audience size, it is our largest.

Something like 89 million Indians watched WrestleMania 33, 50 million Indians watch RAW and SmackDown every week (on Sony Ten 1 and Sony Ten 1 HD).

Sunday Dhamaal has 25 million tuning in. And those are numbers greater than any other international markets we have.”
