JANUARY 17, 1987
The Debut of the longest reigning WWF Tag Team Champions in history aired that day.
Only the Smash character was played by “Moondog Rex” Randy Colley for their first few matches.
After the WWF Fans wouldn’t stop chanting “Moondog” at him, they replaced him with Barry Darsow, whom we all remember as Smash.
Hulk Hogan was a guest on Piper’s Pit, later joined by his “best friend” André The Giant.

“The Living Legend Bruno Sammartino had a few words to say about “The Macho Man” Randy Savage.
Kamala was known as a monster heel back then, long before they turned him into a comedy gimmick in 1992.
