Bret Hart wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1984 until he got screwed in Montreal at the end of the Survivor Series 1997 pay-per-view.

During his time in the WWF, The Hitman won the WWF World Heavyweight Championship (5x), the WWF Intercontinental Championship (1x) and the WWF World Tag Team Championship (2x), but is also the only 2-time WWF King of the Ring in history.

He was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 and again as part of The Hart Foundation in 2019.

During a recent episode of his weekly ‘Snake Pit’ podcast, 2014 WWE Hall of Famer Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts claimed that Bret was never championship material in his eyes.

Here’s what Jake said after his co-host asked him who the better worker was between Shawn Michaels and The Hitman:

“Neither. What for? Better performer? Shawn. Bret just gets dull at times. His interviews aren’t up to par, I don’t think, to what they should be for what position he held.

I think his interviews were poor, at best. They were part of that era that quit selling things, you know, and just did everything.

I will give it to Bret that he did wrestle a lot more than Shawn. Bret to me just, oh boy, I’m gonna get myself in trouble here.

He just wasn’t a champion to me. There I said it. Neither one of them.”
