On a recent episode of his weekly ‘Oh… You Didn’t Know’ podcast, WWE Hall of Famer The Road Dogg Jesse James claimed that RAW announcer Michael Cole is this generation’s equivalent of what Jim Ross was to the product during the 90s.
Here’s what the famous D-Generation X member said:
“He’s still there today doing it man and doing it better, I’d say this is our generation’s Jim Ross, Michael Cole’s the deal. He’s the voice of the WWE, no doubt.
Michael Cole, it was like his first week there, and he was in the commercial with us. And they came to us and said ‘No matter what, don’t shoot him in the face’.
Okay, here we go, and Kid looks at me and he goes ‘In his face, right?’. I said ‘You damn right!’.”
Michael Cole used to be a well respected journalist and reporter before joining Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Federation in 1997. He has provided play-by-play commentary ever since, for the past 26 years.
