Below are some top news stories of the day, involving WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella and WWF Veteran Shane McMahon.

• WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella retired from wrestling in 2018 due to neck and spine issues but made a one-off return at Royal Rumble 2022. In 2023, Nikki and Brie Bella left WWE after their contracts expired.

On the latest episode of the Nikki & Brie Show, AEW star Britt Baker was a guest. Nikki mentioned missing wrestling and the thrill of performing.

Britt Baker responded, “You don’t have to miss it. It’s right here for you. Don’t want it? Because I’m right here if you need an opponent.”

Nikki replied, “I would come out of retirement for you.”

Britt enthusiastically agreed, and Nikki added, “You know what, this is my one thing. Doing a comeback, because I want to do a comeback in a few years…”

In April, Nikki revealed she almost called Tony Khan to commit to AEW after Mercedes Mone’s debut. Tony Khan has expressed interest, saying they would love to have Nikki in AEW if she is interested.

• Back in June, Conrad Thompson and Jim Ross discussed the possibility of Shane McMahon appearing in AEW. Conrad claimed he has heard that Shane O’Mac has been in talks with top people in All Elite Wrestling.

AEW President Tony Khan addressed the rumor on Maggie & Perloff, expressing openness to the idea:

“Shane McMahon is somebody that I’ve never met, but he has a lot of experience in wrestling and a lot of friends in AEW. I have never really had any conversations with him or talked to him ever; I know he ran into Mercedes Mone after Forbidden Door, which is a cool coincidence.

I have never met him. I’d be open to talking to him, and he’s welcome to stop by at any time. I know that’s an interesting rumor.

There have been all kinds of interesting people in wrestling to come into AEW and walk through that Forbidden Door. This might be, if it ever happens, one of the more shocking ones. Even though I’ve never talked to him, he seems like a really nice guy.”

Shane last appeared on WWE programming at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, where he suffered a torn quad during an impromptu match against The Miz.
