• WWE Hall Of Famer Thinks Chris Jericho Winning The ROH World Title Was The Right Decision

On the newest episode of his weekly ‘Hall of Fame’ podcast, Old School Wrestling Legend Booker T opened up on his former WCW & WWF colleague Chris Jericho winning the ROH World Championship on AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

Here’s what the former Harlem Heat member had to say about Y2J’s title win:

“I think it’s smart trying to put some light on that Ring of Honor title, that Ring of Honor brand. I don’t know what that Ring of Honor brand is anymore, other than it being a part of AEW now. I haven’t heard about any Ring of Honor shows.

But if you’re trying to keep that name alive, that Ring of Honor name alive, to have the title on someone like Chris Jericho, I think it does that, you know?

I think it’s important if you plan on doing something with that brand down the road, it’s important to keep that brand live.”

After working for ECW & WCW, Chris Jericho wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation (later WWE) from 1999 to 2005 and again from 2007 until 2010 and from 2011 till 2018.

In late 2001, he became the first ever Undisputed WWF World Heavyweight Champion, thus unifying the by far most prestigious World Titles on the planet, the WWF Championship and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Y2J is with Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling right from the very beginning of the promotion in 2019 and became the first ever AEW World Champion on August 31, 2019.
