Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring NXT and Bryan Danielson.

• WWE is expanding its reach by hosting more premium live events internationally, and they’re also taking NXT on tour. This started recently with the first two CW Network episodes being held in Chicago and St. Louis, though they returned to the Performance Center afterward.

On October 8th, NXT and AEW went head-to-head when Dynamite aired on Tuesday. The two promotions are expected to clash again on November 6th, as WWE plans to shift NXT from its usual Tuesday slot to Wednesday due to the U.S. Presidential Election.

The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE has booked the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for an NXT event on November 6th. This will mark WWE’s first time running a show at the venue, which was formerly ECW’s home until the promotion closed in 2001.

• Bryan Danielson dropped the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley in the main event of the WrestleDream pay-per-view at the Tacoma Dome.

Following the match, the Blackpool Combat Club attacked Danielson, writing him off television as he’s expected to undergo neck surgery. Danielson has stated that he plans to transition to a part-time wrestling schedule.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Danielson will get an MRI to assess the damage in his neck. A recent scan showed significant damage extending throughout his neck.

“What happens next depends on if the level of damage is the same as it was or if it has worsened, and if not, by how much.

The hope is that he won’t need surgery and can heal up strong enough with stem cell treatment therapy. But if not, he’ll have to undergo surgery.

If or when he can return to the ring depends on how well all of this goes.”
