• WWE Has Discussed “Pie In The Sky” Idea For The Rock At Royal Rumble 2023
As we have noted multiple times before, WWE wants to do The Rock vs. Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania 39 (aka WrestleMania Hollywood).
During an appearance on “The Rundown”, The Great One teased this potential WrestleMania showdown against The Tribal Chief.
When asked who is the Head Of The Table in the Samoan Dynasty, Rock replied:
“Who is Head Of The Table? Without saying any names, you’re looking into his eyes right now.”
There’s speculation that Roman will head into WrestleMania 39 as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, and if Rock faces Roman for the Title, then Rock could earn a Title match by winning the Men’s Royal Rumble 2023 match.
According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE Officials have discussed this idea:
“The idea we heard regarding a discussion and nothing more, like I said, it’s been talked about as a pie-in-the-sky is a surprise No. 30 entrant and winning.
It could be something only a few people know but as best we can tell there is nothing official to it right now past a rumor.
Originally, the belief was that if his schedule allowed for it, Dwayne Johnson would do likely his last match at Mania with Reigns, who is a family member. This has been talked about for years, and Johnson wanted it in Los Angeles if he could do it.”
