• WWE Interested In Signing Current NJPW Champion

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials are interested in signing New Japan Pro Wrestling’s IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion KUSHIDA and use him on their developmental brand, NXT.

KUSHIDA’s contract with NJPW ends in January 2019 and WWE officials are seriously considering to approach him with a contract. This is a part of WWE’s strategy to lock-in as much indy talent as they can with the huge amount of money they have coming in with their $2 Billion+ TV deals for RAW & SmackDown.

Speaking of KUSHIDA, he’s set to defend the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title against Taiji Ishimori at NJPW WrestleKingdom 13 on January 4, 2019.
