Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day.

• In 2022, WWE President Nick Khan made a pivotal decision to shake up the scheduling of PLEs. Breaking away from convention, Khan mandated that most PLEs would now take place on Saturdays, with the exception of the second night of WrestleMania. This directive, while surprising to many, reflected Khan’s strategic vision for WWE’s future direction.

Recent statements from UFC CEO Dana White have hinted at an intriguing development in WWE’s event scheduling. Speaking at a post-show press conference following a UFC Fight Night event in St. Louis, White revealed that WWE is poised to reintroduce Sunday night PLEs as part of a coordinated plan with UFC.

This strategy would see UFC events held on Saturdays, followed by WWE PLEs on Sundays, offering fans a weekend double-header of combat sports entertainment.

Here’s what White said:

“Yeah, we already have those dates set up right now, where Power Slap goes Friday and UFC goes Saturday. And then you’re going to see Friday, Power Slap, Saturday, UFC, and Sunday, WWE. You’ll start seeing that stuff, too.”

It looks like WWE is considering another change to their PLEs.

Recent updates from PWInsider indicate that WWE has been contemplating changes to the start time of its domestic Premium Live Events, contemplating a return to the 7 PM EST schedule utilized in prior years.

• Some fans have claimed that the current WWE era is better than the WWF Attitude Era.

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker was asked about this on Busted Open Radio. Here’s what The Deadman said:

“I will go and in my head I’ll try to pick things apart and there’s a lot of things that I don’t like. Obviously, there’s still a huge aspect of storytelling that’s missing. It’s getting better but overall, the atmosphere and business you cannot deny what’s going on right now.

Everything is sold out. It was for the Rumble or maybe at Mania, I was walking down the hallway and they had this sheet on the wall of the cities that there are no comps for. And I’m not just talking about 2 or 3 cities, there’s a list of 30 cities that you cannot get comps for because they’re sold out and I hadn’t seen that since the Attitude Era.

Obviously, prices are different and all that but the energy level in the crowd. The product, the guys, it’s strong, man.

I will never say anything is better than the Attitude Era. I’m gonna hold onto that but what’s going on right now is as close as you’re ever gonna get and they’re making more money.”
