Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving WrestleMania 40 and Robert Roode.
• As we noted before, the Wrestling Observer reported that WWE is planning to do Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 40.
That might not be the final plan.
According to insider source BWE, the idea of a Ladder Match for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship was on the table for WrestleMania XL. However, the plan for a Ladder Match is now being discussed for Logan’s United States Title.
WWE could go in either direction, as multiple men teased going after Gunther’s Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania on last night’s RAW, so WWE could book a multi-man ladder match.

• Since his loss to Omos at a WWE Live Event on June 25, 2022, Robert Roode aka Bobby Roode has not competed in the ring.
He has since undergone two distinct neck surgeries and works as a Backstage Producer now, prompting fans to speculate about the possibility of his return to the ring and when it might occur.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Roode confirmed that he has retired from in-ring competition.
Here’s what the former United States Champion said:
“Ironically enough, I just got green-lighted. The fusion has completely fused. So as far as like, looking at it from a medical point of view, it’s safe to get back in the ring, I guess.
But at almost 48 years old, given the opportunity that I’ve been given now to work as a Producer, which was my goal coming to WWE almost 8 years ago.
I’m quite happy doing this. And I feel like I’ve had a good run, as they say, and I’m happy to do what I’m doing now.
I think everybody would like to have one last match, right? But sometimes when the wheels fall off, the wheels fall off. It’s just that’s the nature of the beast in this sport.”
