• WWE Is Discussing Creating A New World Title
Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship by defeating “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat Match on August 30th 2020 at WWE Payback.
Reigns then won the WWE Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar on April 3rd 2022, in the main event of WrestleMania 38 – Night 2, thus becoming the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
With Reigns holding both Men’s World Titles and being a part of SmackDown, RAW is left without a Men’s World Champion.
According to Wrestlingnewsco, WWE wants a top Men’s World Champion for each brand heading into the Summer.
In an update from the Wrestling Observer, with the Undisputed Title likely not being split and Reigns not losing anytime soon, WWE Officials have begun discussing the idea of introducing another Men’s World Championship:
“There remains a lot of talk of creating a second title for RAW (or SmackDown if they switch brands with Reigns or if someone beats Reigns) in 2023.”
