• WWE Is Discussing The Split Of Former Tag Team Champions

The Mysterios have had a rough time in WWE as of late. Dominik & Rey Mysterio lost to The Miz & Logan Paul at WrestleMania 38.

Veer Mahaan then attacked Rey Mysterio on the RAW after WrestleMania 38 and then went on to defeat Dominik Mysterio in a match and then brutalized him afterwards.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Rey is currently off WWE programming to heal his injuries and WWE has discussed splitting this father-son duo:

“Rey Mysterio has of late gotten more stem cell treatments for injuries. Dominik Mysterio hasn’t been used with the idea he’s injured from Veer Mahaan (in storyline).

There is at least talk of them not being put together going forward, although, without the connection to Rey, there’s really not much they can do with Dominik on the main roster. They had built to an angle some time back where Rey basically told Dominik it’s time for him to go on his own, and then it was promptly forgotten.

And they’ve done a number of angles building to a split that were then dropped, so it appears when it comes to them, ideas are started and dropped all the time.”

Rey & Dominik won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship last year, thus becoming the first ever father-son duo in WWE history to capture tag team gold.
