Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day.
• Ricky Starks has been a prominent figure since joining AEW in 2020, but he’s been missing from television since late March. Many fans are eager to see him join WWE, and it seems WWE is also interested in bringing him on board.
During the March 30th episode of Collision, Starks appeared to suffer an injury during a tag team title tournament match where he and Big Bill competed against Top Flight. This match marked his last appearance on AEW TV, and he has been absent since, with no clear reason provided.
PWInsider is reporting that WWE is eyeing several AEW stars, including Ricky Starks.
Multiple WWE sources have indicated that there is “certainly interest” in several AEW talents, especially those whose contracts are close to expiring or who have been off television for some time.

• A few weeks ago, news surfaced that Bobby Lashley and MVP’s decision to leave WWE was driven by the expectation that they were heading to All Elite Wrestling to reunite The Hurt Business with Shelton Benjamin. However, the group won’t be complete, as Cedric Alexander is still under contract with WWE.
MVP recently became a free agent, while WWE did make an offer to Lashley. However, according to a source cited by PWInsider, the offer wasn’t compelling enough for Lashley to “jump to sign.” Lashley’s last match was in May.
Fightful Select reported that Lashley’s WWE contract is set to expire this weekend. Those who spoke with Fightful last weekend believe that Lashley is likely leaving WWE, and there are currently no creative plans for him within the company.
Since news of his contract status broke, there have been backstage discussions about him in AEW, although AEW has not made an offer yet because Lashley is still under WWE contract.
People close to Lashley have mentioned that he’s also interested in returning to MMA, and they believe he will at least make an appearance in AEW. He’s also ready to return to TV.
