Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Vince McMahon and Natalya.
• TKO President Mark Shapiro revealed at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference that WWE is cutting down on their untelevised Live Events / House Shows, which was something Vince McMahon did a lot to grow the WWE brand.
Here’s what Shapiro said:
“We’re cutting events at WWE. We’re taking our low-margin, marginally profitable events, untelevised events that Vince (McMahon) put in place to grow the brand, right? You’re taking the show on the road, we’ve gotta go to every city we can get to grow the WWE brand.
Well, the WWE brand, while we still have to grow it, it’s on fire right now. We don’t need to carry these marginally profitable events. Andrew Schleimer, our CFO, and Nick Khan at WWE have been hands on involved with cutting back those events, trimming those events.
What was 300 (events) last year will be roughly 250 this year. And next year, we’ll be close to 200.”

• Natalya returned to WWE programming on this week’s RAW. She teamed up with Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria to defeat Pure Fusion Collective (Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark).
During her hiatus, Nattie underwent eye surgery. Here’s what she posted about it:
“Thank you so much Dr Newsom at @newsomeye for fixing my eyes. I’ve never felt better because the world is crystal clear – literally.
I was born with an astigmatism in my left eye, leaving me with one very weak eye, almost blind. My right eye did all the work for me. For years I’ve tried to fix my left eye, as it was basically useless, and I was always told ‘just wear a contact in it’.
The contacts would irritate my eye so much and I would have such a hard time putting them in and removing them every day. And they didn’t help. I pretty much gave up until a friend of mine told me to check out @newsomeye. (Thank you @titusoneilwwe)
Finally there was a procedure/technology that has given me 20/20 vision in both my eyes. Newsom tuned up my good eye and made it even stronger. When I tell you I see the world differently now, I really mean it. It changed my life in the best way.
I had an @evoicl lense implant in my left eye to correct the astigmatism. And I had a PRK surgery in my right eye to get it balanced perfectly with my left eye.”
