WWE Is Officially Advertising Former Champion’s Return For Tonight’s SmackDown

Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving SmackDown and Cody Rhodes.

• A few days back, the Wrestling Observer reported that AJ Styles will return on tonight’s “Tribute To The Troops” special episode of SmackDown.

WWE is now officially advertising Styles’ return for this episode, as he is featured on the poster for this show:

AJ Styles Advertised To Return At WWE Tribute To The Troops 2023 Edition Of SmackDown

Styles was last seen on the September 22nd episode of SmackDown, where he was assaulted by Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso of The Bloodline.

So far, WWE has announced the following for SmackDown:

– Randy Orton & LA Knight vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso)

– CM Punk will appear on the blue brand for the first time in 10 years

– Bobby Lashley vs. Karrion Kross in the United States Championship #1 Contender tournament

– Dragon Lee vs. Santos Escobar in the United States Championship #1 Contender tournament

– Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

– Butch vs. Kit Wilson

– Cody Rhodes will appear

• According to Fightful Select, there were some people within WWE who claimed that Cody Rhodes’ merch sales in Chicago during the Survivor Series weekend were the highest at an event in WWE’s history in Chicago.

When asked in an official capacity, the company didn’t deny it.

The American Nightmare is currently feuding with Shinsuke Nakamura and they will have a match on next week’s RAW.

Cody is also the first man to announce his entry for the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
