• In 2024, WWE held more international Premium Live Events than ever before, with events in various countries including Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. They are also scheduled to have a PLE in Germany on August 31st, called Bash In Berlin.
WWE hosts these events internationally because countries pay high site fees, similar to how U.S. cities bid to host PLEs, which boosts the local economy.
Recently, WWE returned to Italy for a Live Event in Bologna, marking their first event there since 2018. Notably, WWE used to hold shows in Milan.
According to PWNexus, WWE is planning to host a premium live event in Italy next year, which would be the first-ever PLE / PPV in the country.
During a recent interview on Gabby AF, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes said he’d love to see a premium live event in Italy:
“I really hope that Italy gets a WWE… we did a show in Italy, a live event. They were, if people saw Scotland, Scotland was outrageous. If people saw France, France was outrageous. I wish people got to see what Italy was like.
I didn’t know what we were walking into. I didn’t even know if we were on TV in Italy. They would be a great place for a PLE. I make no decisions and can’t get anything done, but that was a really cool experience.”
