• WWE Is Planning To Bring Back Former Intercontinental Champion & Hall Of Famer For Backlash 2023

WWE Backlash 2023 will be the first premium live event after WrestleMania 39.

It will take place in Puerto Rico on Saturday, May 6. Bad Bunny will host this PLE.

This will be the 1st WWE PPV in Puerto Rico since January 2005. Bad Bunny said the following about his role at this event:

“In 2005 when I was a kid, I wasn’t able to attend New Year’s Revolution at el Coliseo. Finally, 18 years later WWE returns to the island with a massive event and this time I won’t miss it.”

WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H said the following about it:

“We’re excited to bring Backlash to San Juan as the demand for WWE premium live events outside of the continental United States continues to grow.

Bad Bunny is one of the world’s most-popular entertainers and nowhere is that more evident than in his native Puerto Rico.”

According to Xero News, former WWE stars are scheduled to return at this event:

“Expect certain former stars from the ‘generalized area’ back for Backlash. I’m not on about Logan Paul, Bad Bunny, etc. It’s a FORMER Star(s).”

In an update, The Wrestling Blog is reporting that WWE wants to bring back former Intercontinental Champion Carlito and his father, WWE Hall Of Famer Carlos Colon, for this PLE:

“I got a report from one my sources that says WWE has been in contact with Carlito to make an appearance with his father on the upcoming PPV Backlash, May 6 in Puerto Rico.”
