Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes II for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship was the original plan for the main event of WrestleMania 40 – Night 2, but there’s speculation that this could change due to The Rock’s return.

On Busted Open Radio, Mickie James revealed what he’d rather watch at the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania:

“You know, I love Cody. He’s my friend, he’s my brother, and I’m excited to see him shine.

He’s freaking killing it, but if I have the option to see, if I had the opportunity to watch Roman and Cody again at WrestleMania or Roman and Rock for the first time ever at WrestleMania, you best believe I’m looking for Roman and Rock.

The Rock has carte blanche, in my opinion, in the wrestling business to walk out on any stage to call his shot.”

Cody isn’t bothered by the returns of The Rock and CM Punk, as he still plans to main event WrestleMania 40.

Here’s what The American Nightmare said during a new interview with Sports Illustrated:

“The Rock is The Great One – he’s still electrifying. CM Punk is one of the greatest stars in the history of wrestling.

I know what I’m up against. Look at the roster – it’s loaded with stars. But that doesn’t bother me.

I’m not flinching. I’m not rooting against anyone else, I’m just working to make it happen.”

Cody defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a Street Fight on this week’s RAW. After the match, Cody tweeted:

“Only 2 steps left

Believe.”
