On tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown before the Fastlane premium live event, Corey Graves made another reference to CM Punk on commentary.

While the graphic for the Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura was being shown, Graves said the following:

“The greatest trick The Devil ever pulled was making the world forget that he existed.”

You can watch it below:

CM Punk said the same thing during a promo when he was in Ring Of Honor and called himself The Devil:

“The greatest thing The Devil ever did was making people believe he didn’t exist. And you’re looking at him right now.”

Below is the video of Punk’s promo:

As noted before, there have been rumors about Punk returning to WWE following his release from AEW. There is speculation about the former WWE Champion showing up at Survivor Series in Chicago in November.

This wasn’t the first time WWE made a reference to Punk this week, as they did it on RAW as well.

It is interesting to note that both references about Punk involved World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in some way. Rollins has been very vocal about not wanting Punk back in WWE as he considers him a “cancer” to the business.
