Below are some top WWE news stories of the day.

• The Motor City Machine Guns’ arrival has brought new excitement to WWE’s tag team division, especially with The Usos recently reuniting. But according to the Wrestling Observer, WWE might be planning to break up two established tag teams to create room for new dynamics.

#DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) could be one of these teams to split. “The Machine Guns as a team are kind of the team in the spot that DIY was,” The Observer explained. “The small team of really, really good workers.”

On the October 25 episode of SmackDown, tension was hinted between Ciampa and Gargano during their loss to MCMG. This might’ve been WWE’s way of planting the seeds for a future break up.

WWE might finally break up The Street Profits as well. The Observer noted that WWE has long wanted to push Montez Ford as a singles star but claimed Ford had hesitated, worrying that his partner, Angelo Dawkins, might not have significant creative opportunities if they separated.

• During an interview with The Schmo, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes said Dustin Rhodes deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame for the work he did as Goldust.

Here’s what The American Nightmare said:

“I think I was 14 years old when Goldust was really hitting his stride on WWE television. And I can certainly say that it was a unique thing to see. My friends had a lot of feelings about what Goldust was doing.

However, knowing how much he had subverted expectations, knowing how much he didn’t want to just be a Rhodes, he wanted to be his own thing, and what he did in the links he went to do it.

I was very proud of Dustin throughout that whole run, what he did, and the lengths he went to do it.

Goldust was an underrated part of the Attitude Era, certainly somebody worthy of the Hall of Fame.”
