Below are a couple of top WrestleMania 41 news stories of the day.

• The lineup for WrestleMania 41 is taking shape, with speculation that John Cena will win the Men’s Elimination Chamber Match and challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title in the main event of Night 2.

WrestleVotes reported that some people within WWE prefer adding CM Punk to the Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena match for the Undisputed WWE Title, turning it into a triple threat. This would be instead of the originally planned triple threat featuring Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

As of this writing, only one match is confirmed for WrestleMania 41 – Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship.

• It was previously reported that WWE is planning to do Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41.

Seeds were planted for this match during the Men’s Royal Rumble, where Priest eliminated McIntyre.

According to Chris Featherstone, WWE is re-evaluating their plans after seeing the social media reaction to this feud:

“Sources within WWE have informed me that the online backlash of Drew McIntyre’s potential WrestleMania opponent has opened up internal discussions to re-evaluate current plans.”

Priest cashed-in the Money In The Bank contract on McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 and won the World Heavyweight Championship.

Later at Clash At The Castle 2024, Priest defeated McIntyre, after interference from CM Punk, to retain the World Title.
