The Wrestling Observer previously reported that Gunther vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship will be the main event of Night 1 of SummerSlam 2025, while John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship will main event Night 2.
It looks like WWE might book Roman Reigns’ tag team match as the main event of Night 1 instead, as WWE is showcasing that match on the main cover of Night 1 now:
This is going to be Roman’s first match since WrestleMania 41. It should be noted that in 2024, Roman’s first match since WrestleMania 40 also main evented the Bad Blood PLE over the CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre Hell in a Cell match.
