• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 83rd birthday of Old School WWF Legend Gorilla Monsoon (Real name: Robert Marella).

After his career as an active WWWF/WWF Superstar came to an end during the early 80s, Gorilla Monsoon became an announcer and will always be remembered as one of the two greatest play-by-play commentators in professional wrestling history, with the other one being “Good Ol’ J.R.” Jim Ross.

In 1994, Monsoon was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame (now known as WWE Hall of Fame) by his colleague & friend, Jim Ross.

The last time we saw him on TV was during the ‘WWF WrestleMania XV’ PPV, where he received a standing ovation.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & † REST IN PEACE

• WWE Offering To Sign Several Released Wrestlers At Reduced Pay

WWE released over 50 employees back in April while making budget cuts due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

As the company doesn’t want all of those backstage employees & wrestlers to sign with other other promotions, they’ve offered to re-sign some of them.

The Wrestling Observer noted the following about it:

“There have been people who have been released from WWE and they have been offered deals to come back and the offers for them to return are a fraction of what they were making.

The offers that I’ve seen, we may be seeing a fair number of people showing up at Impact. I don’t know that but I just know that based on what I’ve seen – some renewal offers – there are people that would definitely go to Impact Wrestling.”
