On this day in Pro Wrestling history on January 25, 1997, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘nWo Souled Out’ LIVE on PPV from the Five Seasons Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

This was the first ever Souled Out event and also the only one of them, that was presented as an nWo themed PPV.

– Mexican Death match: Big Bubba Rogers defeated Hugh Morrus

– Jeff Jarrett defeated Mr. Wallstreet

– Buff Bagwell defeated Scotty Riggs

– Scott Norton defeated Diamond Dallas Page by count-out

– WCW World Tag Team Championship: The Steiner Brothers defeated The Outsiders (c)

– Ladder match for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship: Eddie Guerrero (c) defeated Syxx

– WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Hollywood Hogan (c) wrestled The Giant to a no contest

• WWE Officials “Very Hopeful” About A Major Return

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Stephanie McMahon was asked if UFC Hall Of Famer & former RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will ever make a return to WWE.

Here’s what Stephanie said:

“Well, you know, Ronda’s been very public that she would like to start her own family and you know, once she does that, our doors are absolutely open, our arms are open.

We are very hopeful that Ronda will come back home to WWE.”
