This week’s NXT featured the surprise debut of Zaria, formerly known as Delta. She appeared during the final moments of the show.
Unfortunately, many fans missed the dramatic conclusion due to unexpected broadcast issues, leading to frustration among viewers and dissatisfaction from NXT officials. The network’s move to The CW has not gotten off to the best start.
According to Fightful Select, Zaria’s debut was intended to be a key highlight of the night. As the last episode before Halloween Havoc, this moment was highly anticipated but went unseen by many when the show was cut off in certain areas before the final segment aired.
The problem was linked to delays in The CW affiliate feeds, which caused the broadcast to end early in some markets.
The show was carefully timed to run until exactly 10 PM EST, with producers ensuring the pacing hit this strict cutoff. Despite confirmation from satellite providers that the broadcast would air uninterrupted, CW affiliates in Orlando and other regions were on a 20-second delay, resulting in an early cutoff.
NXT officials were reportedly “very upset” about the situation, with one source stating, “everyone involved in the show was pi$$ed.” The broadcast challenges were foreseen in the weeks leading up to The CW debut, as the network enforces strict end times, unlike the flexibility NXT had while airing on the USA Network.
Despite the technical issues, Zaria’s debut gained traction online, and her character is expected to play a significant role in upcoming NXT storylines. However, this incident has sparked concerns about similar problems occurring in future broadcasts as NXT transitions fully to The CW.
