Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day.
• Lilian Garcia, who rejoined WWE in October, revealed personal struggles behind the hiatus of her Chasing Glory podcast. Speaking to Wrestling Life, Garcia shared her vision for the show, inspired by her desire to share wrestlers’ real-life stories.
She recalled discussing the idea with her father in 2004, saying, “I really want to interview these amazing superstars I get to share the locker room with and share their real stories… I always felt like if people knew those stories, not only would they benefit from hearing them, but they’d become even bigger fans.”
The podcast went on hold in 2021 during a period of immense personal hardship. Garcia had cared for her father until his death, then for her mother, who also passed that year. Simultaneously, her marriage was falling apart. Emotionally drained, she realized she couldn’t give the show the energy it deserved.
Here’s what the current RAW ring announcer said:
“Let me tell you, putting the show on hold was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. In 2021, my mother passed away. I had already been through so much—taking care of my dad until he passed, taking care of my mom until she passed, and dealing with a marriage that was falling apart. I realized I couldn’t give the show the time and energy it deserved because I was a shell of myself.
It’s important to know when it’s okay to step back and take care of yourself. If I had kept going, I think I would have had a nervous breakdown. It was just too much to handle. As I prayed about it, I felt like God was telling me, ‘I’m just asking you to put it on hold—it doesn’t mean you can never bring it back.’ So, I said, ‘Okay.’”

• Drew McIntyre made a surprise return to WWE TV on this week’s episode of RAW, attacking Sami Zayn during the show’s conclusion.
Initially expected to return later in December or even in January, backstage changes and Bronson Reed’s injury at Survivor Series accelerated the former WWE Champion’s comeback.
PWInsider reports that while McIntyre’s return had been discussed, it was originally slated for WWE’s holiday events or the RAW Netflix debut. However, Reed’s absence led to a reshuffling of plans.
McIntyre addressed rumors about his status in a fiery X video, captioned, “How quickly they all forget…”
He declared, “If you don’t hear it from me, live on WWE TV, or on my social channels, assume that every single thing you hear about Drew McIntyre is BS! Oh, and how soon, you all forget.”
