• WWE Planning Major Hell In A Cell Match For WrestleMania 42
Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu have been at odds since September 2025, when The Samoan Werewolf took out The Scottish Psychopath following Wrestlepalooza.
Fatu also played a key role in McIntyre losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes. The two were scheduled to face off on SmackDown last week, but things broke down before the match could even begin, with both men brawling all over the arena. A match between them is still expected to take place at WrestleMania 42 next month.
According to Ibou of Self Made, Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu is indeed planned for the Show of Shows, with the expectation being that the match will take place inside Hell in a Cell.
This would be the first Hell in a Cell match in WWE since Bad Blood 2024, where Drew McIntyre faced CM Punk under the stipulation. The last Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania took place in 2023, when Edge faced “The Demon” Finn Bálor.
Below are the matches announced for WrestleMania so far:
– World Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
– Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton
– Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
– WWE Women’s Championship Match: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
– Women’s World Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan
– Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch
• Big Update On Gunther’s WrestleMania 42 Status
Even though he’s been missing from TV lately, Gunther is still expected to be a part of WrestleMania 42. The Ring General hasn’t been seen since his win over Dragon Lee earlier this month, leading some fans to worry he might miss the biggest show of the year.
However, WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that WWE sources are adamant he will have a “substantial role” in Las Vegas. As one insider put it, leaving a star like Gunther off the card “wouldn’t benefit anyone.”
The original plan was reportedly for Gunther to face Rey Mysterio, but that’s currently up in the air because Rey is dealing with a rib injury.
Whether that match stays or WWE pivots to a new opponent, it sounds like the company is working hard to make sure Gunther remains a center-piece of the WrestleMania weekend.
