4. Heel Turn Storyline Dropped After This Week’s Announcement
According to the Wrestling Observer, there were plans for Shane McMahon to turn heel after he won the WWE World Cup at WWE Crown Jewel PPV, but those plans were nixed after this week’s announcement of McMahons running both RAW & SmackDown.
Speaking of Shane, Fightful is reporting that the team of Shane McMahon and The Miz might be next in-line to become the SmackDown Tag Team Titles by defeating The Bar.
Shane & Miz are currently involved in a storyline where Miz thinks the WWE World Cup trophy is “their child” and they have been teaming up as of late.
If Shane & Miz end up winning Tag Team Gold, then this wouldn’t be the first time that Shane O’Mac would be holding a Title in WWE.

3. NXT Star Teases Making History At Royal Rumble 2019
During a recent appearance on E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness podcast, former UFC fighter and current NXT wrestler Matt Riddle teased entering the Men’s Royal Rumble 2019 match and possibly making history.
Below is what Riddle said:
“I’m really hoping in this new year because I know TakeOver is the same weekend as the Royal Rumble and I’ll be honest, I’m a big rumble guy. You never know, there might be a spot open, maybe I get in there, maybe I make some history. Right? Who knows?
I’m aiming for the stars. The star stallion, the stallion star. Dude, it needs to happen. Yeah, it should happen. It should happen.”
