• WWE Released More Employees Today

As we noted earlier, WWE released new RAW commentator Adnan Virk. Virk noted on Twitter that weekly travel along with his other jobs was exhausting, so he & WWE mutually decided to part ways.

According to PWInsider, WWE has released many backstage employees today, because a number of divisions will be folded together under a new division, which will be looked over by Kevin Dunn.

“One example is that there were two graphics departments, one for WWE TV production and one for digital and that they can easily be merged into one division, meaning the company could get that work done with a smaller group of staffers.

Got a follow-up second out of that inside. Writing one on: ‘As you can imagine, there are a lot of shell shocked employees, both those who exited today and those who remain, knowing they will have more responsibilities to deal with daily.'”

One of the backstage names that were released today is Brian Pellegatto, who worked as WWE’s Senior Vice President of Production for almost 9 years.

“Brian Pellegatto had been with WWE for just under 9 years, coming over from ESPN as a Senior Digital Producer. He rose through the ranks and was named VP of Digital and Social Media in July 2015. He took the position of SVP, Production in March 2019.”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful gave the following update:

“There are some HR exit meetings set for this afternoon for many of those who were let go by WWE. There are some high ranking people in those departments and longtime supervisors among the cuts.”
