As Netflix prepares to roll out the next wave of Stranger Things episodes, the platform’s growing relationship with WWE may be about to produce a crossover moment. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is lining up a promotional tie-in connected to the hit series.
WWE RAW operates as a Netflix property, making cross-promotion between the two brands a natural fit as the streaming giant looks to maximize attention around one of its flagship shows. With new Stranger Things content dropping soon, WWE programming offers a massive platform to amplify that launch.
Few modern TV series have had the kind of cultural impact Stranger Things enjoys. Its influence has stretched well beyond television, famously reintroducing “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush to a new generation of fans and sending the track soaring back up the music charts decades after its release.
That song also carries a deep-rooted connection to wrestling history. A cover version by Placebo was once used in what many consider one of the most iconic WWE video packages ever produced, promoting the “Streak vs. Career” match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 26 in 2010.
