• WWE Set To Turn Active Wrestler Into General Manager

In a significant departure from WWE’s usual management structure, a current in-ring competitor is reportedly stepping into a high-profile leadership role. Bodyslam reports that former NXT wrestler Timothy Thatcher is set to become the new General Manager of WWE Evolve.

While established authority figures like Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis have long hung up their boots, Thatcher remains very much an active force. Evolve needs a General Manager since Stevie Turner departed the company in October 2025.

Thatcher’s journey back to this position has been a winding one. After a stint in NXT and a subsequent release, Thatcher rejoined the fold in late 2024 as a primary coach and scout for the WWE ID program.

Despite his new executive responsibilities, Thatcher has remained active in the ring, recently competing for the Evolve brand against rising stars like Charlie Dempsey and Sean Legacy.

Outside of his WWE duties, he continues to maintain a presence on the international independent circuit, wrestling for promotions like wXw in Germany and DEFY in the United States.

• John Cena Took AEW Star’s Permission To Use His Moves In Logan Paul Match

During his interview on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, John Cena discussed his match against Logan Paul from Clash In Paris. Cena revealed that he called AEW star Claudio Castagnoli (fka Cesaro in WWE) and asked Claudio’s permission to use some of his moves in the match. Here’s what the 17-time World Champion said:

“I do my research on guys. Not only do I dive into their personality, I watch their past matches. I watch what they’re capable of. With Logan, you don’t have many matches to go on. And a lot of stuff that he was doing was viral moments. I’m like, ‘I need something more than that.’

I saw Logan and I’m like, ‘Man, you look and work like Cesaro.’ So I called Claudio. I’m like, ‘Hey, can I borrow some stuff, please?’ He’s like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ He’s part of the coffee group (with me and Seth Rollins). No problem. He’s like, ‘I can’t be there. It’d be an honor.’

So I’m like, ‘Hey, Logan, watch this guy. These are things I think you can do.’ And I would send him modified clips of the Super European, the Giant Swing, all things I thought Cesaro did well that I think Logan could do well.

And by the way, this might help you with your style. Like, get more stuff because take it from Five Moves of Doom, there’s going to come a time where you need more stuff. That’s just the nature of the beast. You’re going to need more stuff, so mess around with this.”
