WWE has been using multiple main roster stars on NXT as of late, and this is WWE CEO Nick Khan’s strategy.
Nick wants NXT to be a legitimate 3rd brand of WWE, and not just a developmental show.
This way, WWE is trying to boost the viewership for NXT and get more money for NXT’s TV deal.
According to insider source BWE, there have been discussions of having two NXT Titles involved at SummerSlam 2023. This is something that has never been done before.
As of this writing, the following main roster stars are currently involved in storylines in NXT:
– Seth Rollins
– Baron Corbin
– Mustafa Ali
– Dana Brooke
– Humberto Carrillo
– Angel Garza
On next week’s NXT, Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breaker (son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner).
In two weeks, Carmelo Hayes will defend the NXT Championship against Corbin.
WWE SummerSlam 2023 will take place on August 5th at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. 40,586 Tickets have been sold so far for this premium live event.
Just a few days before this, NXT will hold their Great American Bash 2023 premium live event on July 30th at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas.
