WWE Teasing Big Singles Match For Ronda Rousey

As we noted before, WWE posted a video of a confrontation between WWE’s Four Horsewomen & MMA’s Four Horsewomen. Former Women’s Champions Charlotte Flair, Bayley & Becky Lynch interrupted Ronda Rousey’s interview.

The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion then said: “You name the time, you name the place”. The WWE women walked away without saying anything. Ronda then said: “Not today? I’ll be waiting to hear from you”.

At first, it was speculated that this would lead to a WWE Four Horsewomen vs. MMA Four Horsewomen match at either Survivor Series 2017 or WrestleMania 34, but now it looks like it might only lead to a singles match.

WWE posted a video titled “Ronda Rousey challenged Charlotte Flair and we are so ready” on their YouTube channel in which Cathy Kelley addressed the above mentioned confrontation angle.

It’s clear now that WWE wants to do a singles match between the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and the former Raw Women’s Champion. You can watch the video below:

Speaking of Ronda Rousey, she will be appearing at the Mae Young Classic Red Carpet. Below is the official announcement:

“Hours before Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler square off in the final match of WWE’s inaugural Mae Young Classic this Tuesday on WWE Network, watch Superstars and celebrity-athletes walk the red carpet at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, live on Facebook.com/WWE.

Cathy Kelley will host coverage from the red carpet, which begins at 6 ET/3 PT. With the Mae Young Classic Finale being one of Sin City’s hottest tickets next week, luminaries from all walks of life will be in attendance for the all-important event.

Among those expected to appear on the carpet and speak to members of the media are former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, former Team USA soccer star and two-time Olympic gold medalist Hope Solo, WWE COO Triple H, Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon, The Bella Twins, Charlotte Flair and Bayley. Cast members of the hit Netflix series, “GLOW,” will also be on hand Tuesday for one of the most pivotal nights in the history of women’s wrestling.”

Eric Bischoff Explains Why Roman Reigns Not Being A Heel Or A Babyface Is A Flaw

During a recent edition of “Bischoff On Wrestling” podcast, former WCW President Eric Bischoff was asked to comment on Roman Reigns’ claim of him being a “Gray Area Guy” in the WWE.

Below is what Bischoff said:

“It’s hard to say because of the way he’s being booked and the way they are writing for him. Those are different things. I would agree that he is clearly not a heel or a babyface and I think that is a flaw, quite honestly. I think it’s a mistake. I think that this kind of on again, off again success that they have been having with Roman Reigns over the past couple of years is testimony to that.

It’s just not really working to the potential that Roman Reigns has or I believe he has. I believe he could and should be the top, if not one of the top, stars in WWE. He has all of the tools and ingredients. What he may be lacking in certain regards like promo skills or finding that last ten percent of his character. Really connect with the audience and more importantly be able to manipulate the audience, that’s the final ten percent.

That’s not his fault if they are writing him to be neither fish nor fowl because they don’t understand how to do it. So the creative team finds comfort in keeping him in that “gray zone” which really is a safe zone because you aren’t really making a commitment because you don’t want to fail.”
